A conference regarding COP29 was held in The Hague

On September 11, a conference titled "Priorities and Opportunities for the Private Sector of the Netherlands at COP29" was held at the Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Groüth of the Netherlands. The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Climate Envoy of the Netherlands, Jaime de Bourbon de Parme.

The conference was attended by around 100 representatives from companies involved in renewable energy, climate, water, transport, food security, and the circular economy sectors in the Netherlands. Participants also included business associations, pension funds, bank representatives, and delegates from various government agencies, such as the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Climate Policy and Green Growth, Infrastructure and Water Management, as well as Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Safety, and Nature. The event was moderated by Climate Envoy Jaime de Bourbon de Parme.

In the introductory part of the event, Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev delivered an extensive presentation on Azerbaijan's favorable investment environment, the current state of trade and economic relations between the Netherlands and Azerbaijan, and future cooperation prospects. He also discussed opportunities for Dutch companies and the priorities of COP29, highlighting Azerbaijan's climate strategy, recent green energy transition projects, and potential areas of collaboration for Dutch businesses within the COP29 framework.

The event then continued with panel discussions. The head of the Netherlands’ delegation to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) provided an update on the current climate situation and commended the successful efforts of the COP29 presidency. Other panelists presented on the activities of the organizations they represented, contributing insights on the climate agenda.

During the event, representatives from the ILX Foundation, the Dutch Development Bank (FMO), H2Offshore Engineering B.V., and several other companies expressed their views on potential cooperation opportunities within COP29.

In the concluding part of the conference, panelists addressed questions regarding bilateral economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands, Azerbaijan's COP29 presidency, and the Netherlands' climate policy.
