Embassy of Azerbaijan hosted an official reception on the occasion of Independence Day.
On the occasion of Independence Day, our Embassy hosted an official reception at the Marriott Hotel in The Hague.
The event was attended by representatives of various state institutions of the Netherlands, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Parliament, other ministries, diplomatic corps, international organizations, and political, economic, cultural, scientific, and academic circles, as well as members of the Azerbaijani community.
The event began with the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Following this, a video presentation showcasing the history, culture, and development of Azerbaijan was screened.
The event was opened by the remarks of Ambassador Mammad Ahmadzada.
Guests of honour – Mr. Jan van Zanen, Mayor of The Hague and Mr. Erik Weststrate, Director of the Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands - addressed the event.
A video clip was then presented, highlighting the opening of the carpet exhibition “The Splendour of Azerbaijani Carpets: Learning Through Art”, jointly organized by the Embassy and “Azerkhalcha” OJSC, which took place on 21 May at the Atrium City Hall in The Hague.
The official part of the event concluded with performances of traditional Azerbaijani dances such as “Naz Elema,” “Mirzeyi,” and “Uzun Dere,” performed by the “Xaribulbul” dance group.
