650th anniversary of great Azerbaijani poet İmadaddin Nasimi
With the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we celebrate 650th anniversary of great Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi (1369-1417) in 2019. Imadaddin Nasimi is also the great philosopher of his time. His poems have launched a new stage in the development of Azerbaijani language and literature.
His works were very popular in Azerbaijan, Near East, Irag, Suria, Central Asia during his life. He influenced not only Azerbaijani literature, but also the literatures of all Turkic states starting from 15th century. His handwritings are kept in many libraries of the world.
His poems have been re-published many times and a lot of research has been done on him. With the decision of UNESCO, his 600th anniversary was celebrated globally.
